Spring cleaning is the perfect opportunity look around the house for hazardous items hiding in the garage, bathroom and laundry room! To help residents safely dispose of household hazardous waste, Martin County is hosting a Recycle Roundup on Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Martin County Fairgrounds.
Electronics and household hazardous waste should never be placed curbside with regular garbage. These items can contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable or reactive ingredients that can be dangerous to the health and safety of our environment and waterways if disposed of improperly. The Martin County Utilities and Solid Waste Department is hosting this free, residential recycling event so residents can safely dispose of all kinds of household hazardous materials.
Residents are also encouraged to bring documents for free shredding, and the Martin County Sheriff's Office will be onsite collecting unused, unwanted or expired medication.
Residents are encouraged to visit www.martin.fl.us, Martin County's online resource for services, information and news and on social media for daily updates.
