Transitional Affordable Housing Groundbreaking Ceremony New buildings to be built in Stuart for foster aged out youth and single moms Stuart, FL. (May 25, 2023) –Place of Hope will be holding a one-of-a-kind groundbreaking ceremony on May 25th at 10:30am to celebrate the new buildings being created for aged-out foster youth, homeless youth, single mothers with dependent children, and human trafficking survivors on the Treasure Coast. This event is timely because it comes on the heels of Senate Bill 102 just signed into law by Governor Desantis known as the Live Local Act. The bill will be pumping millions of dollars into affordable housing legislation programs and this transitional housing complex is a prime example of what this legislation could help create in other parts of our area. Statistics show that more than half of youth who age out of foster care will end up homeless, pregnant or in jail within 18-months without proper guidance, support and housing. The new complex will be within The Bender Family Village. This is the first complex to be built within the village and will be named after State Representative John Snyder and Martin County Sheriff William Snyder who will both be in attendance at the event. Both the village and the complex were generously made possible by John & Bobbi Erbey. Also attending will be Martin County Sheriff’s deputies, Martin County Commissioners, donors, Angel Moms and current Place of Hope youth. The ceremony will take place at 10:30am in Place of Hope’s newest campus for abandoned and homeless kids. Light catering and beverages will be available. ***Media is welcome to attend and cover and go live from the property***
