Position Title: Resident Program Director FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director Employment Status: Full-time
Position Overview:
The Resident Program Director is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all residents. This role involves screening incoming residents, developing individualized case plans, and providing support in areas such as education, job readiness, parenting, pregnancy, life skills, counseling, and spiritual growth. The Resident Program Director also monitors residents’ progress toward self-sufficiency and supervises the Resident Advisors.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Support:
- Conduct phone screenings, in-person interviews, and make residency recommendations to the Executive Director
- Manage the intake process for new residents and oversee their onboarding
- Develop and maintain a model case plan addressing job readiness, education, housing, and volunteering
- Provide one-on-one support to residents, fostering self-confidence and independence
- Serve as a professional role model in behavior, attire, and communication with residents and staff
- Maintain a monthly call log to track inquiries and outcomes
- Oversee and update the resident handbook, individual case plans, and related documentation.
- Hold residents accountable to the requirements outlined in the Resident Handbook, resolving infractions as needed in collaboration with Resident Advisors
- Facilitate individual and group training sessions, such as parenting and life skills programs
- Build and maintain partnerships with community agencies, offering referrals to resources such as WIC, Healthy Families, and DCF
- Facilitate house meetings and participate in staff meetings
- Collaborate with Resident Advisors and the Executive Director to address challenging cases and ensure residents remain suitable for Mary’s Home
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise resident activities and outings
- Stay informed on local health updates and educate staff and residents as necessary
- Communicate with staff and volunteers about residents’ needs, case plans, and current programming
- Serve as a representative of Mary’s Home at community agency meetings and events
Resident Advisor Supervision:
- Recruit, train, and onboard Resident Advisors (RAs)
- Create and manage the RA schedule, including overnight and weekend coverage
- Supervise Resident Advisors to ensure residents meet daily and weekly goals

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in social services, education or a related field
- State clinical licensure (LCSW or LMHC) preferred, or eligibility for licensure within six months of employment
- Experience:
- Minimum three years of experience working with women who have experienced trauma, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- At least two years of management experience, including employee supervision
- Experience working with at-risk populations, ideally in a group home setting
- Background in the nonprofit sector is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles
- Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and planning abilities
- Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally
- Capacity to work effectively in a dynamic, unstructured environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff and volunteers
- Work Schedule:
- This position requires flexibility, with the potential for evening or weekend hours to accommodate the needs of residents. Candidates should be prepared to adapt their schedules as necessary to ensure adequate support for residents and program activities
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive a company vehicle at night
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling objects weighing up to 20 pounds

Salary range: $62,000 to S70,000 commensurate with experience
