Western Governors University is a non-profit, fully online university with a mission to change lives for the better by creating pathways to opportunity. WGU offers degrees in IT, Health Care, Business, and Teaching. We are competency-based which means students can earn a degree faster by completing courses on their own timeline and not based on semesters or seat hours. WGU has 6-month terms that begin every month so starting a degree is available when you are ready. Our tuition is a flat rate for every 6-month term and is not determined by the number of courses or competency hours completed. Students pay the same rate no matter how many courses are done within that 6-month term! You can complete 4 or 24 and your tuition rate will not change! Once a course is complete, students can work with a mentor to accelerate another course into the program and move forward with the degree.
