Stuart, FL - Families across Martin County can now empower their children to unlock a world of opportunities through specialty pathways offered in the Martin County School District! Starting December 1, the District invites parents and guardians to apply through School Choice for their children to enroll in one of many unique specialty pathways tailored to ignite curiosity, build skills, and open doors to future careers.
The District’s Specialty Pathways are carefully crafted to engage, inspire, and challenge students from elementary through high school, providing vibrant learning environments where students can explore their passions and lay a solid foundation for future academic and career success. Each pathway offers specialized programs focused on diverse fields and interests, including environmental stewardship, medical preparation, engineering, leadership, and more.
Specialty Pathways at the Elementary and Middle School Levels
Our featured elementary and middle school pathways spark curiosity and build foundational skills, giving students the opportunity to explore various interests while preparing for a promising future:
- Bessey Creek Elementary School – Cambridge International Primary School
- Jensen Beach Elementary School – Center for Environmental Stewardship
- Pinewood Elementary School – Communication Academy: Elevating and Empowering Student Voice
- SeaWind Elementary School – Leadership Academy
- Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School – Pre-Medical Academy
- Hidden Oaks Middle School – Cambridge International Pre-AICE School
- Indiantown Middle School – Hospitality & Tourism Academy
- Murray Middle School – Agricultural Academy
- Stuart Middle School – Engineering and Entrepreneurship Academy
High School Opportunities for Career and College Readiness
At the high school level, Specialty Pathways offer hands-on experiences and rigorous academics to prepare students for life beyond graduation. Pathway options include:
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) Academies – Training students with technical skills and industry credentials leading to high-wage, high-demand careers.
- Advanced Academics – College-preparatory programs – Advanced Placement (AP Capstone) at Jensen Beach High School, Cambridge (AICE) at Martin County High School, and International Baccalaureate (IB) at South Fork High School.
- Leadership Development JROTC programs – Develop structure, discipline, and leadership skills, with Air Force JROTC at Jensen Beach and Martin County high schools, and Army JROTC at South Fork High School.
These pathways allow students to explore and pursue multiple interests, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to excel in higher education and the workforce.
Martin County residents and District employees are encouraged to apply for the specialty pathway and school that best aligns with their child’s goals and interests, regardless of where they reside in our community. Students accepted into a specialty pathway program at a school other than the campus they are zoned for based on their address are required to have their own transportation.
The specialty program application will be available in the FOCUS Parent Portal beginning December 1.
