Rep. Toby Overdorf - News

Dear Friends,

In the wake of recent hurricane challenges, our community has shown remarkable resilience. Together, we rallied to support those affected, organizing relief efforts and providing assistance to those in need. This spirit of compassion exemplifies our strength and determination to overcome adversity.

As October closes, we’ve embraced the opportunity to come together and strengthen our community bonds. This month was filled with meaningful events that allowed us to connect, share ideas, and celebrate our collective achievements. From local fairs to community service initiatives, each gathering was a reminder of the power of unity and support.

As we transition into the holiday season, let’s carry forward the spirit of togetherness and gratitude. Whether through family gatherings, volunteering, or supporting local businesses, this is a wonderful time to reflect on our connections and the impact we can make together. Join me as we recap the highlights of October and look forward to the warmth and joy of the upcoming months!

With Hurricane Milton having a huge impact on our community, I was able to be involved in community recovery and provide information to constituents.

Survivors of Hurricane Milton gathered with me in Port Salerno for a powerful Hurricane Relief Event. It was a heartfelt occasion filled with resilience and community support. This event was incredible, and we were able to provide an opportunity for constituents to receive relief right on the spot.

Maggie and I had a great opportunity to serve at the 25 United Dinner at Kyle G's restaurant to support those impacted by Hurricane Milton. Thank you to Kyle Greene and his staff for being so gracious and welcoming us as part of his team (as volunteers of course).

In October, I was honored to be presented the AIF 2024 Champion for Business award. Thank you, AIF, for this recognition!

The team and I were able to visit the Jensen Beach Children’s Museum. What an incredible center for educational fun! Next month, my office is sponsoring a tree for their tree festival. Can’t wait to share!

I was able to join the newly opened Boys & Girls Club of Martin County and celebrate the new Americorps. This group is remarkable and provides helpful guidance and assistance for students in our community.

My team and I were able to visit the Pace Center for Girls location for the Treasure Coast. It was wonderful to visit with these bright young ladies. The Pace Center for Girls is an extraordinary alternative educational program for girls. They have an amazing student store where the girls can have access to new clothing, accessories, and essential needs. If you’re looking for an organization to donate to, this is a great one.

The Governor made a stop in Palm Beach and invited me to join him for his Round Table Discussion on Amendment 3. I encourage you to explore and learn the details and significance behind this amendment, along with all other amendments on the ballot.

Our community has great growth happening, and I was invited to join in the celebration and speak at the groundbreaking event for DragonFly Investments. This is an incredible project that will bring great small business and employment to our community. The Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County has been an invaluable partner to DragonFly Investments in bringing this incredible project to our neighborhood. I was even able to toss a penny into the foundation of the building for goodwill to the project!

Our state parks are truly remarkable, especially our local gem, Jonathan Dickinson State Park. That's why my team and I organized a community workshop to discuss and brainstorm about our state parks. This was very impactful, and the folks who came provided an abundance of thoughts and ideas.

The team was able to join the community and the Treasure Coast Food Bank at the “Pack the House” event. What a wonderful opportunity to feed our neighbors in need!

A few highlights from the campaign trail! I was joined by the next sheriff of St. Lucie, Richard Del Toro, and our man, President Donald Trump.

The local NAACP and Women's League of Voters hosted a debate for the local candidates. There, I was able to share some insight into what I would like to continue to do to support our district. Thank you to everyone that attended.

Constituent Services:

The team was able to jump in and assist several constituents in October. One in particular was a lady who reached out needing immediate assistance with her parents' Medicaid that had accidentally lapsed, and she feared they would encounter issues with their assisted living community. The team was able to help get her parents' applications expedited and ensure their coverage was untouched
