The Education Foundation of Martin County had an incredible week bringing the EFMC Book Bonanza to Port Salerno Elementary School, and the joy was contagious! Hundreds of family members joined us for a fun-filled evening celebrating reading, learning, and community.
From full bellies and big smiles to a parent reading workshop, prizes, giveaways, and kids excited about books, it was a night to remember. We are deeply grateful to the Port Salerno Elementary administration, our amazing volunteers, and our partners, including the New Worlds Reading Initiative, for making this event possible.
Up next: The EFMC Book Bonanza heads to Warfield Elementary School on May 14, 2026! The event is open to all families with elementary-aged children, even if your child does not attend WE.

We’re excited to share an update on one of our Innovative Project Grant award-winning projects, the IEP Toolkits at Jensen Beach Elementary School, and the impact is already being felt!
Sarah Durgee and Hannah Licamelli, ESE support facilitators at Jensen Beach Elementary, hosted two highly successful trainings for instructional and non-instructional ESE staff. All who attended were fully engaged and genuinely excited to learn how to use the new IEP Toolkits to better support student needs.
All materials have been barcoded and the EFMC has purchased even more activities and resources due to the project's very successful initial launch - Proof of just how valuable these tools are!
Huge shout out to Terry and Colleen for going above and beyond to identify meaningful resources and being the first to check out these materials, and to the incredible ESE paraprofessionals whose dedication ensures students receive the support they deserve.
We can’t wait to share more as this project continues to grow and serve students in powerful ways.
