Florida House Passes Florida Chamber-Backed Bill to Strengthen Statewide Apprenticeship Ecosystem

Today, HB 681, related to Apprenticeship and Preapprenticeship Programs by Representative Lauren Melo, passed 117-0 off the House Floor. The bill creates a structured and performance-based funding framework for Florida's apprenticeship ecosystem by tying funding to participation, performance, and high-demand occupations
The Future of Work Florida Initiative seeks to increase awareness and preparedness for high-demand and high-wage careers in Florida. Apprenticeships are a powerful way to grow talent and create real pathways to opportunity while fueling local workforce development. Apprenticeships are a “win win” for jobseekers and employers. They help workers earn while they learn, gaining skills for careers with advancement opportunities and reduced debt upon completion. They also provide businesses with a talent pipeline with tailored skills to meet industry needs.
