Innovation: Barostim™ for Heart Failure

We are excited to announce that Jupiter Medical Center is the first hospital in the region to offer Barostim Baroreflex Activation Therapy, the first FDA-approved heart failure device to use neuromodulation, which uses the power of the brain and nervous system to improve the symptoms of systolic heart failure. Performed by Vivek Patel, MD, FACS, Cardiothoracic Surgeon, this groundbreaking procedure ensures our heart failure patients have access to the latest medical technology, empowering them to lead full, healthy lives and return to their daily activities.

For several consecutive years, U.S. News and World Report has named Jupiter Medical Center a High-Performing Hospital for Heart Failure. By being the first in our region with innovative procedures such as Barostim, our renowned specialists are continually at the forefront of cardiac care.

CORI Robotic-Assisted Orthopedic Surgery
We have expanded our robotic-assisted orthopedic advancements with the addition of the CORI™ surgical system. A revolutionary next step in joint replacement surgery, enabling surgeons to personalize the fit of every knee based on each patient’s unique anatomy. Dr. Andrew Noble performed the first joint replacement surgery utilizing the CORI, which joins the Mako SmartRobotics™ and Velys™ Robotic-Assisted Solution systems already in use by our highly skilled surgeons.

New Treatment for Carotid Artery Disease
We are proud to be the first hospital in our region to offer the latest treatment for patients with carotid artery disease (CAD). Dr. Juan Gomez, Director of Interventional Neuroradiology performed the first procedure using the Neuroguard IEP® System, a new FDA-approved medical device designed to restore blood flow and reduce the chance of stroke during and after procedures to treat CAD.

Jupiter Medical Center is committed to advanced, patient-centered care, prioritizing innovation and excellence. Adding new procedures and cutting-edge technology further underscores our commitment to the health and well-being of the community we serve.

Campus Expansion Update

New Patient Care Tower
Construction of a new state-of-the-art 92-bed Patient Care Tower on our main campus is well underway. Scheduled for opening in early 2026, the facility will enable us to better accommodate the increasing number of patients who depend on us for inpatient care.

The New Patient Care Tower includes:
• A dedicated floor for Oncology inpatient care
• Two Orthopedic Floors, each with its own physical rehabilitation unit.
• A Cardiac disease focused floor, including a cardiovascular intensive care unit and telemetry monitoring.

The first floor of the building includes an exciting innovation with three specialized state-of-the-art simulation labs designed to enhance education and training:
Critical Care Simulation Room: Equipped with advanced technology to simulate real-life critical care scenarios, providing nurses with hands-on experience in managing high-acuity patients
Medical/Surgical Simulation Room: Designed to replicate a typical medical/surgical environment, this room will help nurses stay current with best clinical practices and enhance their skills
Labor and Delivery/NICU Simulation Room: This hybrid, dual-purpose room will offer comprehensive training in labor and delivery, as well as neonatal intensive care

The simulation labs will serve as a vital resource for ongoing training and education, allowing nurses and other members of the clinical care team to stay up to date with the latest healthcare advancements and protocols. It will also play a crucial role in training nursing students and recent nurse graduates, providing them with the confidence and skills needed to excel in their careers.

To further enhance patient and family convenience, we are also constructing a five-story Parking Pavilion with 800 spaces.

Celebrating National Doctors' Day

On March 30, 1933, the first-ever National Doctors’ Day was celebrated to honor physicians and their commitment to patients. The date was selected due to the significant medical advancement that took place on that date in 1842 – marking the inaugural administration of anesthesia. It has been more than 90 years since that first celebration, yet the achievements of physicians continue to flourish.

At Jupiter Medical Center, I am inspired by the dedication of our nearly 800 world-class physicians. As the first-ever physician leader of Jupiter Medical Center, I am most appreciative of their commitment to clinical expertise and leadership which keeps us at the forefront of cutting-edge health care. Please join me in thanking our medical staff for their dedication to our patients and our community.

On behalf of the entire Jupiter Medical Center team, thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to Jupiter Medical Center.

Wishing you continued health and well-being.

Sincerely,

Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM
