Watch: The Moment an Aged Out Foster Youth's Future Changed

Kaleigh’s story is one of resilience, growth, and hope.

She first came to Place of Hope several years ago as a foster youth and lived on our Sam & Connie Frankino KidSanctuary Campus. It was there that she began to flourish—excelling in school, gaining confidence, and slowly coming out of her shell.

Her hard work and determination continued to shine. Just last year, Kaleigh spent the summer working at Kids Across America camp, where she was equipped with high-level leadership skills and developed a strong work ethic that will serve her for a lifetime.

Fast forward to today: Kaleigh has aged out of foster care, graduated high school, and transitioned to our Villages of Hope program—already defying the odds stacked against so many foster youth. Yet, like countless others, she faced a very real challenge: the lack of reliable transportation. Without it, getting to school, work, or even the grocery store can feel nearly impossible—and independence can seem just out of reach.

But as a resident of Place of Hope’s sister entity, Villages of Hope, we refused to let that be her reality.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of faithful donors, we raised enough funds to purchase a pre-owned 2023 Toyota Camry and surprise Kaleigh with her first car.

The moment she received the keys was unforgettable. Tears of joy streamed down her face as she realized the opportunities and freedom this gift represents. It was more than just a car—it was a lifeline to her future.

Thank you to everyone who made this gift possible. A special thank you to Treasure Coast Toyota of Stuart.

While Most Kids Cannot Wait to See Their Friends On The First Day of School, She Is Starting Over...Again.

She clutched her new backpack straps tightly, the way she always did when she felt nervous.

It was the first day of school—but not just any first day.

This was her fourth new school in just two years. 💔

While other kids were running toward familiar faces, she was scanning the crowd, wondering if anyone would talk to her… if she would be “the new kid” forever. She learned to keep her story short—people do not always understand what it means to move so often, or why she cannot stay in one place for long.

For children in foster care, this is a reality—starting over again and again, with each move chipping away at their sense of belonging. At Place of Hope, we give kids like her something they have never had before: stability, family, and a place to truly call home.

Our proven and effective model provide foster youth dignity, safety, family, and support with no more placement disruptions, until true permanency is found.

Focus on Hope - Where Are We This Week?

Headed Back to Where It All Began!

25 years ago, at Christ Fellowship Church, God planted a vision in the hearts of Pastor Tom and Donna Mullins—a vision to bring hope, healing, and a future to children and families in need. From that calling, Place of Hope was born.

Today, Focus on Hope is returning to the very place where it started to celebrate this incredible journey. As a special tribute, we are honoring Pastors Todd and Julie with a one-of-a-kind gift—a football signed by the very kids whose lives have been forever changed through this ministry. 🏈💙

Here is to 25 years of God’s faithfulness, and to the thousands of lives touched through the power of HOPE!
