Dear Fellow Floridian,
For years, we’ve seen members of Congress, such as Nancy Pelosi, taking advantage of their position for personal benefit. As Florida’s United States Senator, I agree with the people across the Sunshine State who think that’s wrong, which is why I’ve been proud to support a ban on members of Congress trading stocks for years, and will be announcing more on my work to ban stock trading by members of Congress soon.
I am also working to have a full review of Nancy Pelosi and her family’s stock trading history conducted by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). After this request was blocked by Democrats in committee last month, I wrote a letter to the GAO formally requesting this review earlier this week. It is critical that we fully understand any potential avenues for corrupt members to use insider information for personal gain and ensure the public trusts that members are working in Americans’ best interests.
I have fought for years to hold members of Congress accountable to the American people and ensure they are held to the highest ethical standards with bills like my No Corruption Act and a ban on members lobbying after their time in office. I will always fight for your best interests, and I’ll keep working to make sure Washington and every member of Congress does the same.

Sincerely,

Rick Scott
United States Senator

Sen. Rick Scott Leads Bipartisan Improving SCRA Benefit Utilization Act to Support America’s Servicemembers
Senator Rick Scott announced the bipartisan Improving SCRA Benefit Utilization Act to require that current financial literacy programs include education on consumer financial protections and mandates that servicemembers be informed of benefits when they enter service and when they are called to active duty.
Senator Rick Scott said, “The members of our Armed Forces are heroes who put their lives on the line for their fellow Americans, and they deserve every benefit earned through this incredible service. The Improving SCRA Benefit Utilization Act is a critical step toward ensuring our service members have the financial knowledge and legal protections provided through their service and sacrifice for our nation. By embedding these safeguards into required financial literacy training, we can support those who serve and make it easier for them to access protections for personal, auto, and student loans. I’m proud to lead this bipartisan effort to protect the financial well-being of those who defend our nation, during and after their time in uniform.”

Sens. Rick Scott, Katie Britt to Sec. Lutnick: As Trump Admin Continues to Combat Communist China, U.S. Must Address China’s Illegal Fishing Practices
Senators Rick Scott and Katie Britt sent a letter to Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, thanking him and the Trump administration for their commitment to protecting American jobs and ensuring fair, competitive markets, while encouraging immediate action against the growing threat of illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. In the letter, the Senators warned that Communist China, the world’s largest exporter of seafood to America, has turned IUU fishing into a weapon to undermine U.S. workers, threaten America’s national security, devastate the U.S. environment, and perpetuate gross human rights abuses – including the use of forced and child labor, human trafficking, and dangerous working conditions that claim over 100,000 lives annually in the commercial fishing industry. Senators Scott and Britt also called for full enforcement of the High Seas Driftnet Fishing Moratorium Protection Act and a total ban on seafood imports from nations that engage in or support these abuses.
