SIGNED: VA HOME LOAN PROGRAM REFORM ACT

Joseph -
Yesterday, President Trump signed the “VA Home Loan Program Reform Act” into law—giving our nation’s heroes and their families another tool to keep their homes during times of hardship.
Currently, nearly 70,000 veteran homeowners are more than 90 days late on their mortgage payments, putting them at risk of homelessness. This bill modernizes the VA Home Loan Program to help these veterans, creating a permanent partial claims program with access to federal assistance that is already available through other federal housing programs.
Now, veterans will have access to all the same protections and assistance programs that are available to non-veterans through FHA loans. That means fewer foreclosures, fewer displaced families, and more stability for those who sacrificed everything for us.
This policy is about protecting the American Dream for those who earned it most.
