Dear Friend,
You don't expect a letter to change your life. But that's precisely what happened to one father in Martin County.
"It was Friday after working a 60-hour week… I came home to a note on the door—a 10-day notice. My lease was up. I had to be out—or face eviction. No warning. No backup plan. Just… gone."
That moment began a downward spiral. A single dad, raising a daughter he adored, now homeless—doing everything right, and still falling through the cracks.
But this isn't just his story. It's the story of too many families in our community. Families that get overlooked, families that work hard, love deeply, and still can't get ahead.
That's why we created the Dear Someone Docuseries—to give these families a voice and bring their truth into the light.

At Family Promise of Martin County, our mission is to help children and their families experiencing homelessness transition into a home of their own—and stay there.
We serve families led by full-time, working parents from our local community who are doing their best to provide for their children. To support lasting housing stability, we offer temporary shelter, transitional housing, intensive case management, meals, financial literacy, and educational support.
Our work is made possible through a caring network of congregations, dedicated volunteers, and generous community support. Together, we’re helping families build a path toward long-term independence and stability.
