Pay Grade: $63,419 - $101,462 annually
Under the general supervision of the Public Works Director, ensures subordinates complete work efficiently and timely, and equipment is maintained and repaired. Serves as a working supervisor when needed. Supervises semi-skilled and unskilled employees engaged in stormwater duties. Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of storm sewer lines, catch basins, manholes and baffle boxes. Responsible for the cleaning and televising of storm sewer lines. Work is reviewed verbally, through written reports or through observation upon work completion for compliance with work orders and established policies and procedures. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring screening for illegal substance abuse.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Provides documentation of stormwater activities and annual reporting for compliance with NPDES MS-4 Permit, GIS mapping and silk fence inspection.
2. Directs and assists stormwater maintenance personnel in operational functions of citywide drainage and stormwater management systems including catch basins, baffle boxes, storm sewer, ditches, retention/detention areas and wetlands.
3. Assists in emergency situations, inspections, repair and replacement of stormwater systems.
4. Ensures preventive maintenance is performed on all assigned equipment and vehicles assigned to this team; prepares and maintains records for maintenance of all stormwater systems.
5. Responds to complaints from citizens and provides for resolution.

Responsible for assigned units of budget preparation, payment authorization of invoices within authority and assists in development of long-range capital improvement plans.
7. Ensures crew receive adequate training, copies of operational guidelines and procedures, and provides responsible supervision at all times.
8. Delivers safety messaging and training to subordinates on a regular basis and ensures adherence to safety protocols.
9. Operates a wide range of vehicles including, but not limited to, dump trucks, tractors, front-end loaders, Vacuum truck.
10. Participates in the hiring of personnel and prepares performance evaluations.
